TO BE COVERED BY THE HIP AND EYE GUARANTEE:

We offer a Hip and Eye Guarantee. This covers any genetic problem that would prevent your puppy from being certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), or the Canine Eye Registration, Inc. (CERF). Please have your pup’s eyes checked at no later than six months of age. Your veterinarian can do a preliminary evaluation on hips at 12 months of age. Hips should be evaluated by X-ray, and eyes by a board certified Veterinary ophthalmologist. All veterinary and X-ray costs are at the owner's expense. Your pup is guaranteed against hereditary defects only if it carries our River Run kennel name.

To qualify for a refund the purchaser must present proof of the defect to be examined by the seller's veterinarian. The following requirements must be met:

  1. A copy of the findings from the OFA or CERF must be sent to us for our records, as well as original X-rays, so that, at our discretion and cost, they may be evaluated by our vet for verification. Should discrepancy arise, a repeat x-ray may be required at the owner’s expense.
  2. THE DOG MUST NOT HAVE BEEN BRED.
  3. A letter from your vet identifying the dog by micro-chip/tattoo and stating that the dog has been spayed or neutered.
  4. Permanent ID must be stated on all documents of certification. (Micro-chip/tattoo)
  5. The purchased puppy must have the River Run prefix in the dog’s registered name.
  6. The dog cannot be more than twenty-six months of age.

We must be satisfied that a problem does exist and is genetic. We will either refund the original purchase price of the pup (not including shipping and other expenses) or give you another pup of like or similar breeding (breeder’s choice). If the price of the replacement pup is greater than the original pup purchased, the owner will pay the difference. The purchaser will assume the expense of transportation of another pup. If it is mutually agreed upon the purchaser may keep the pup and receive up to one half of the purchase price of the pup as a refund.
In addition, it is the seller's option to require any or all of the following:

  1. Return the dog at purchasers expense or
  2. Present proof of the dog being put to sleep
  3. All registration papers must be returned.

It is understood that the above warranties are expressly regarding congenital, hereditary defects and any physical injury or mistreatment to the dog voids this guarantee.
