Congratulations!
Your pup is from the finest breeding stock possible---To the best of
our knowledge, the bloodline is free
of congenital or hereditary defects.
Please have your puppy examined by your veterinarian within 48 hours of purchase.
Your pup has received
professional veterinary care and has had vaccines appropriate for his/her age
at the time of purchase. It is important that you continue your puppy’s
health program and complete his/her immunization record to insure good health.
Please have your puppy vaccinated regularly for kennel cough with an intranasal vaccine.
Rabies vaccination should be done at 12-16 weeks.
Your puppy should be started on heartworm preventative and
kept on it throughout his/her life. Do not risk heart worm infection,
the preventative is cheaper than the cost of treatment. The monthly heart
worm preventatives (Interceptor or Heartguard) also protect your pup from
roundworms, hookworms, and whip-worms - - - intestinal parasites that can
be picked up anywhere other dogs have been. Flea and tick control is
now as easy as a monthly application of Frontline Topspot. This product,
available from your veterinarian, will keep your pup free of fleas and
ticks for a month after application.
Please continue to feed your puppy Purina ProPlan puppy food for
the first several months. Be sure not to overfeed your puppy as it has been
scientifically proven that puppies kept lean during the first year of life are
at decreased risk for hip dysplasia. The rest is based on appropriate
nutrition and exercise. We recommend putting your puppy on Glycoflex.
A supplement that is rich in glucosamines, an essential nutrient for healthy
joints. Glycoflex is available from you veterinarian.
